PhD Thesis of the Year Award 2024
The Turku Cancer Research Society invites all students recently defended a PhD thesis on the field of cancer to apply for the PhD thesis of the Year Award 2024! The purpose of the award is to highlight talented early career researchers and their research conducted in Turku. The award (500 €, funded by Jalkanen Foundation) will be presented in the Society´s Christmas Seminar event on Decembre 3, 2024 at Alhopuro lecture hall (Medisiina C).
The recipient of the award will be invited to give a short talk in the seminar. To apply, please follow the instructions below. The application deadline is November 1, 2024 and the applicant need to be a member of the TCRS.

The Turku Cancer Research Society invites all students having defended a PhD thesis on the field of cancer to apply for the PhD thesis of the Year Award 2023!
The purpose of the award is to highlight talented early career researchers and their research conducted in Turku. The award (500 €, funded by Jalkanen Foundation) will be presented in the society´s Christmas seminar event on 12th of December 2023. The recipient of the award will be invited to give a short talk in the seminar.

The award (500 €, funded by Sirpa and Markku Jalkanen Foundation) will be presented in the society´s Christmas seminar event on 13th of December 2022. The recipient of the award will be invited to give a short talk in the seminar. Apply for the award by submitting an email application (check instructions below) to the secretary of the Society (contact-tcrs@lists.utu.fi or gmartine@abo.fi) no later than the 11th of November 2022. The winner will be contacted by the 23-25th of November. Young Principal Investigator Award 2021
Turku Cancer Research Society is pleased to announce that nominations for the Young Principal Investigator Award are now open. The Award (2500 €) is sponsored by the Jalkanen Foundation and is planned to recognize the best scientific work by a young early career principal investigator. We encourage nominations of young investigators who are making significant contributions to the understanding of cancer or are improving the treatment of the disease through basic or clinical research at the Turku Campus. The selection will be based on the scientific quality and novelty of his/her publications from 2019-2021 as last or second last author.

PhD Thesis of the Year – Award 2021
Turku Cancer Research Society invites applications for the annual PhD Thesis of the Year Award. The purpose of the award (500€) is to highlight talented early career researchers and the impact of cancer research conducted in Turku. Application are open for those who have received a PhD or an MD-PhD degree from the University of Turku or Åbo Akademi University between 1.7.2020 and 30.6.2021
Apply for the award by submitting an email application to the secretary of the Society (contact-tcrs@lists.utu.fi) no later than the 28th of October 2021.
The winner 2021 will be contacted by 12-13th of November. The award will be presented in the Society’s Christmas seminar event on 30thof November 2021.
